A couple of months ago (on my birthday to be precise) I shared on Instagram stories that I felt the need to write a bucket list. As a result the boys have taken an interest in what bucket lists are, and Chief (age 6) was thrilled to be asked (coincidentally) to write one for his homework recently.
I have been working on my list for this summer and would love to share it with you all soon, but in the meantime, he asked if I could publish his. So without further ado, here it is. Chief’s bucket list for the summer holidays:
1. Visit the seaside
Living in the Midlands has its advantages, but being by the sea is not one of them. All of us love to visit the beach so I wasn’t surprised to see this at the top of his list.
2. Visit a Wildlife Park
It’s not very often that we make it out for long day trips, but when we do we try to go somewhere or do something that isn’t an everyday occurrence. I’m looking forward to this one too!
3. Have a Bubble Day
With our garden work well underway and the grass settling down and play equipment being built, Chief is so excited to share it with his friends. Together with Munch (and some enthusiastic hoots from The Loud One) he decided that he would like to throw a bubble play date at some point. Now just the matter of booking it in…
4. Large Indoor Play Centre
I’ll be honest, this is not at the top of my list of things to do, but I know that one day covered matting and roll bars will be a thing of the past. So this summer, on one of the cold wet days that is bound to happen, we will be bound in the direction of some form of indoor soft play.
5. Toys ‘r’ Us
No, this post isn’t sponsored, this is genuinely on his list. I imagine he might have some ideas of how we might spend our time there too, but I haven’t asked.
So, there you have it! What do you have planned this summer?
