Blogger Recognition Award

Earlier this week I was very excited and humbled to be given a Blogger Recognition Award from the lovely My Real Fairy. To know that other people are reading and appreciating my writing means the world to me. So firstly a huge thank you to Mainy 🙂

The idea of these awards is that they are given from one blogger to another to share the love amongst the blogging community and link to other blogs that you enjoy. I, however, have somewhat naughtily tweaked the rules to incorporate some of my favourite creative accounts to follow, whether they blog or do something else. Additionally, so that it doesn’t feel like a modern day chain letter, I have linked their websites below but don’t expect any tags back from anyone who is linked. I simply wanted to be involved and spread the Friday feeling love to these individuals. Of course if you want to be involved too then that’s cool!

But first, as part of the fun, there are two questions for me to answer:

1. How did my blog start?
2. What two pieces of advice would I provide to other bloggers?

1. My blog
I have been writing on an ad hoc basis for as long as I can remember. It is, and has been since I was a child, my “go to” when life gets real and I need a release or an escape. That and reading, but in my mind they are completely intertwined. So at the end of last year I decided that I wanted to draw together most of the strings of my writing and put them in one place rather than scatter them about in random fashion. Fast forward to January and I launched my blog. Very quickly I realised that the name didn’t quite fit, so fast forward again to Easter and, well, here we are. Finally happy and energised with my little dot in the ocean of the world wide web.

2. My advice
I am so new to blogging that I really don’t feel in a position to give advice, but I will say this. Do something that you love, and do it because you love it. Don’t worry about the stats. Know that what you produce, whatever that may be, has something completely unique – you. Believe in yourself and focus on what you are getting out of this, because ultimately you won’t make it to old age remembering how many social media followers you had, you’ll remember the fun, the passion and the love.

So, without further ado my 10 awards/ shout outs (aside from My Real Fairy of course!) go to:

Emma Lord Photography

The Scarf Room

Love Audrey

Take It From Mummy

Grub & Graffiti

The Tale of Mummyhood

Little Owl Ski

Daisies & Pie

Plutonium Sox

I hope that you all enjoy their work as much as I do.

If any of the above tagged creatives would like to take part, these are the rules:

1. Thank the blogger who recognised your work, and provide a link to their blog/ social media account/ website.
2. Write a post to show your award.
3. Give a brief overview about how your blog/ business started.
4. Give two pieces of advice to people just starting out.
5. Select 10 other accounts that you would like to give this award to.
6. Comment on each of their sites or tag them on social media to let them know!
