Cetraben

Cetraben products

I have suffered with very dry skin and eczema for my whole life. This time of year it gets particularly bad, with the chill outside and the heating inside. Throw in multiple hand washes during the day whilst I clean up from messy play, craft, or meal time with my sons and my hands are worst hit. In fact, they get so bad that my finger tips crack and bleed, pretty gross as the 1990s version of me would say. So I was intrigued when Cetraben got in touch to ask if I’d like to give their lotions and creams a whirl.

I was sent three products: Cetraben Cream, Cetraben Lotion and Cetraben Daily Cleansing Cream. I started using them straight away, using the Cream on my hands, and the Daily Cleansing Cream (in the shower) and the Lotion (once dry) on my arms and legs. The latter two seemed to make a difference very quickly. They helped to hydrate my dry skin, absorbing easily and not leaving a sticky residue which meant that my clothes weren’t covered in moisturiser.

The Cetraben Cream, to be honest, took a lot longer. Used regularly however it has made a difference, as you can see from the before and after photos below. My thumbs (which always seem to be the worst hit) are not completely recovered, but they are certainly much better.

Thumb after Cetraben

Unlike other creams that I have used none of these stung. In fact they felt extremely gentle on my sensitive skin. I haven’t tried them on my boys who also suffer with eczema, but having used them with success on my own skin I would be willing to try them out on my children too.

Cetraben Cream and Lotion use three key ingredients which are listed on their website:

Cetraben ingredients

Not only are they gentle and easily absorbed, but I was also pleased to note that Cetraben do not test their products on animals or use ingredients derived from animals.

In an easy to dispense container, the smaller pots happily slip into a handbag or glove box of a car, or can be discreetly placed near the sink to be immediately on hand when required. The packaging is quite neutral though, so they’re not something that you might feel you need to hide away out of sight.

All in all I would happily use this product again, try it on my boys and recommend it to others. Do let me know what you think if you try it a go!

N.B. I was sent these products free of charge in exchange for an honest review. For more information, please visit my disclosure page.

The small one & I suffer greatly, my thumbs spend a lot of winter looking like yours, as do my feet 😒 But the small one was prescribed Cetraben late last year & it’s been a game changer! My hands are so much better as I’m the one putting cream on him 99% of the time so I just rub it into my hands too. I’ve started using it on my feet & they’ve almost survived the winter!

So pleased to hear that it helped you and the small one! It has been a slow starter on my hands, but I’ve definitely seen an improvement, and my arms and legs cleared up almost instantly. Xx

I was excited to see this on the #Blogstravaganza link up. My daughter and myself both have eczema as well as dry skin. I am not in the UK, but am going to try to get my hands on some of this and try it out. Thanks for sharing!

No problem! I think it is available elsewhere, hope you manage to get some, it’s great πŸ™‚

Might be worth me looking at, I’m a postman and as you’d expect my hands can get pretty bad. Usually just use sudacrem as we have lots around the house πŸ˜‚

Gosh, yes I can imagine. Give it a go, the cream in particular has made a big difference to my hands.

I didn’t realise they did a daily cleansing cream as well as the cream and lotion. It looks like they’ve worked brilliantly on your thumb! #blogstravanganza

They have! Yes, the cleansing cream can be used on your face or body. Worked wonders on my arms and legs!

I’ll pass this on to my cousin who suffers with dry skin! Great recommendation, thanks xx

No problem, hope it helps them too πŸ™‚

My boys have used this and it’s very good #blogstravaganza

It’s so gentle. I think it will work very well on my boys’ skin too.

Wow, you can really see a difference in your pictures. #blogstravaganza

It’s made a big improvement!

Looks great, I think il try it! Thanks! #blogstravaganza

I’m going to bookmark this as my little boy gets eczema really bad. He does get things prescribed by the doctors, but I don’t think it hurts to try alternatives. Thanks for sharing this, otherwise I would be none the wiser. #Blogstravaganza

No problem! I understand that this is available on prescription too.

I have very dry skin so I wonder if this would work for me? #blogstravaganza

It’s made mine feel much more comfortable which is impressive, especially with the weather that we’ve been having!

I need to share this with my friend. She gets those little cracks ALL the time! #blogstravaganza

I hope that it works for her πŸ™‚

I’ve used this cream a few times on the girls and have been very impressed. It was given to us at the hospital when they were born too as they highly recommended it! Thanks so much for hosting, it’s great to have you as always! xx

Oh, that’s interesting! It’s so gentle, I am impressed. Thanks for having me on #Blogstravaganza πŸ™‚

Me and my little boy occasionally suffer from eczema and we’re still trying to find a cream that works for us. I’ve never heard of Cetraben before and may ask my doctor or pharmacist to see if it’s suitable for us. Thanks for sharing. #Blogstravaganza

I hope that it works for you too if it’s suitable. It’s very gentle.

My hands look just like yours and they are rather sore, may need to look into this one #Blogstravaganza

I’d definitely recommend giving it a go!

I suffer especially at this time of year. I was going to ask if it is suitable for little ones as Jessica seems to suffer from dry skin and thought it might help her…… I’ll have to take a look #Blogstravaganza

Lots of people have said that this has helped their children. It’s very gentle so it certainly seems as though it would work well for them too.

I love products like this, so practical and kid-friendly, too. #blogstravaganza

Yes, they appear to be very gentle on all skin!

I suffer with extremely dry skin especially on my hands due to washing them a lot in work. This sounds like it could be what I need to try out #blogstravaganza

It goes on easily and absorbs very quickly. I have been impressed and I use it after every hand wash!

These are worth remembering. Thanks for sharing. #blogstravaganza

You’re welcome πŸ™‚

Oh I am definitely going to have to look into Cetraben, my son has eczema and dry skin. I wonder if they are available in Australia… #blogstravaganza

A quick Google search suggests that they are – hope you can find them!

My hands get terribly dry during winter and I’m always looking out for suitable creams. Must give this a try too – thanks.
#blogstravaganza

I hope it works for you, it seems to be keeping my skin moisturised even through the latest bout of cold weather.

I’m definitely going to look out for this. My youngest suffers terribly!
#blogstravaganza

I hope that it helps!

oh wow you can see the difference and its so great that there are creams out there that actually work!!! I dont have eczema, but I get really dry, irritable skin and just that gets to me! will definitely recommend this to others should the need arise! #blogstravaganza

The lotion would work really well on very dry skin I think. It’s worked wonders on my arms and legs πŸ™‚

I’ve heard good things about Cetraben, my skin is usually fine but this winter for some reason has been bad, my skin is so dry – i’ll Have to give it a go x
#blogstravaganza

Used regularly it works very well x

It’s great that there is a product that can really help people who suffer from this condition #Blogstravaganza

Definitely. It can be quite painful so it’s good to have something that goes on gently and works well.

My husband has had some skin problems now and then in the last couple of years, might give these a try. We’re not 100% sure about citric acid though, it’s possible that he’s sensitive to it (but hasn’t been tested for that and isn’t keen to go back for more tests lol) x
#blogstravaganza

It’s difficult to know sometimes isn’t it? Perhaps a pharmacist could help? Hope he finds something that suits x

My eczema has been terrible this winter, I’ll see if I can find this in the shop later! #blogstravaganza

I hope that you manage to get some! I think it’s available in most pharmacies if that helps πŸ˜‰
