Christmas Play List

December is the month when I download a Christmas playlist or two onto my phone to play via the magic of Bluetooth wherever I am. If you read my Share the Shuffle post earlier this year you will know that I have a wide ranging taste in music, but Christmas tunes to me are almost always pop classics.

A few people have asked me recently what my all time favourite Christmas song is and, honestly, I don’t know that I have one. These tunes will be featured throughout this month though to get us all in the party spirit, and I thought you might like to see what makes my top 10 Christmas tunes!

In no particular order:

Leona Lewis – One More Sleep

The Waitresses – Christmas Wrapping

The Pogues ft. Kirsty MacColl – Fairytale Of New York

Eartha Kitt – Santa Baby

Michael Bublé – Holly Jolly Christmas

Mariah Carey – All I Want For Christmas Is You

Bobby Helms – Jingle Bell Rock

Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett – Winter Wonderland

The Ronettes – Sleigh Ride

Frank Sinatra – Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Finally as a bonus tune, although it’s more of a seasonal song than strictly a Christmas one, I do love this:

Queen – A Winter’s Tale

3rd December 2018

Like you I’m a massive fan of Christmas songs (and films, and food, and parties, and jumpers, and earrings and pretty much anything Christmas related if I’m honest!) I love all of those except Leona, I’m not a fan of her voice. My favourite is the Pogues, but another one I love which doesn’t get played much is the Parade of the Wooden Soldiers. It’s not strictly speaking a Christmas song, but it is performed by the Rockettes at the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Show every year which is good enough for me!!

Oh good shout! Yes, there are lots of pieces that I would associate with Christmas even if they’re not strictly Christmas songs. Lots to love about this season 😉 x
