Welcome to my Time Traveller series!
I love history, from the dark depths of centuries gone past, to more recent years. So I’ve reached out to my fellow bloggers and small business owners and asked if they could go back in time, when would they travel to and why?
This week I’m joined by Gareth from Daddy Giraffe:
Having the ability to Time Travel is something everyone has thought about, having the opportunity to change time and history as we know it.
So I have that chance in front of me to go back in time what will I do?
Stop world war 2 happening, be the person who invented the telephone or another life changing item we use everyday, be in the presences of the greatest kings and queens of history and see first hand the building of the Ironbridge.
No in fact I wouldn’t go that far back into history, I would go as far back as the first time I plucked up the courage to kiss Cheryl and little did I know that kiss would chance my life forever.
The first time I met Cheryl was at her house I was nervous as I had been speaking to her for a while now and meeting face to face was something entirely different, I knocked on the door to which she opened it and ran to the sofa, I walked into the house said hello and sat on the other sofa opposite where I stayed fro the next three dates as I was to nervous to sit next to her.
I remember rambling about anything and everything from my hamster escaping into the walls resulting in me having to take the day off work to bribe it out the walls with a mushroom and my current dog whose favourite thing to do in the world at that time was to lick the patio doors.
After hours of laughing we soon realised it was 3am and I have work in the next few hours so I left wondering if it went well and asking the question what the hell was i talking about!!!
The third meeting comes around and I mustered the courage to sit next to her on the sofa which she laughed and said it took you long enough, again the night was filled with laughter but yet still no coffee, the night drew on and morning arrived again so I booked my taxi which happened to be the longest 5 minutes of my life as I was trying to think of the right time to go in for the kiss but bailed, the time for me to leave and as I gave her a cuddle goodbye I went for the kiss and immediately I felt the fireworks it was hands down the best kiss ive had today.
6 years and 2 children later we are still here with that kiss still fresh in our minds and the future ahead of us.
How lovely! Thank you for sharing with us Gareth.
